Parent's Page Aethelmearc loves safe and fun Youth Activities! Here are some things parents need to know about the rules for Youth Activities in our sylvan kingdom. Please have these two forms filled out before the event and bring them to registration at each event: Minor Waiver Form and Medical Authorization for Minors If your child/children will participate in martial activities, please visit this website for information and forms: http://youthfighting.aethelmearc.net/guests.html . All event youth activities must be run by a warranted Youth Chancellor or a warranted Youth Marshal, and the 2 deep rule must be in effect at all times. *The Sight/Sound Rule states “Parents or Guardians who bring minors to an event must ensure their children’s activities are compliant with SCA Governing Documents, Laws and Policies, and site rules-to include any Kingdom-or-event-rules regarding a requirement for minors 12 and under to be within sight/sound of a responsible parent/guardian at all times.” Parents must be present at all times with children under the age of 5 years. *The “2 deep rule” requires a minimum of 2 adults, unrelated to one another by blood, marriage or relationship to be present at all event activities. Parents and volunteers can count towards the 2 deep rule. Activities will be immediately cancelled or postponed due if proper staffing cannot be met. For more information, please contact your local Youth Chancellor, or the Kingdom Youth Chancellor. You may also visit the Officer’s Page on this website to view the “Policies and Procedures” and the “Society Youth Activities” Memo in their entirety. |
